About Me

My name is Sarah Raman, and I’m a first year student at Carleton College. My academic interests lie in all things words – primarily linguistics and foreign languages – and I’ve been excited about finding the intersection between linguistics, history, and literature in this class, ENGL 285: Textual Technologies: From Parchment to Pixel.

This ePortfolio represents the work I’ve done for ENGL 285. Under Experiments you’ll find reflections on the hands-on exercises I’ve done, and under Edition you’ll find information about my culminating project for this class. This site itself is also a textual experiment in its own right; the challenge to adapt my coursework into a public-facing online format has been a valuable exercise in intermediality, one of our course themes.

I hope you find this glimpse into the coursework of ENGL 285 informative and thought-provoking. If you have any further questions, you can contact me at ramans@carleton.edu.
