About Me

Have you ever picked up a book and wondered about its history? Where did it come from? How was it made and what is it made of? By whom and for whom was it made? Why is it designed the way it is? How did it get into your hands? We are constantly reading and these questions extend far beyond books to all kinds of textual technologies, especially in the digital age. We can further inquire into the history of reading. How have people read in the past? What did they read? How have sociocultural, political, and religious circumstances structured available ways of reading? This site explores these questions and more for anyone who has ever been curious about them.
This site is curated by Connor, a religion major and digital arts and humanities minor in the Carleton class of 2023. He is interested in a wide range of books and literature, as well as climbing, LEGOs, flags, and geography.
