Edition: “Singing for Our Lives”

I have chosen to produce a digital edition of the protest song “Singing for our Lives” by Holly Near. This song is built specifically so that new verses can easily be zippered in following the call by an individual singer, so it lends itself well to the process of finding different source texts. This edition provides both written-out texts and video for multiple versions by Near herself, ranging from 1983 to 2018, along with historical context for some of the changes and additions made over time.
